For our final project in motion graphics, we were tasked with creating a title sequence video. I focused on animation and worked in Adobe After Effects. The movie I chose to explore in this concept is called “I Saw The TV Glow”, it is a horror/psychological movie about coming to terms with who are and deals with LGBTQ+ themes in such an excellent way. I incorporated these themes by using illustrations and utilizing colors present in the transgender flag. I also wanted to include the feel of vintage and nostalgic TV static, this is shown when the title is being written out.
I saw the tv glow
Through hand-drawn illustrations and Adobe After Effects animation, I aimed to capture the film's eerie yet deeply emotional atmosphere.
The sequence uses a muted but poignant color palette inspired by the transgender flag, symbolizing the film’s powerful LGBTQ+ themes. To evoke a sense of nostalgic unease, I incorporated vintage TV static effects, allowing the title to materialize as if emerging from a flickering screen—fading in and out of reality. The result is a sequence that feels both dreamlike and disorienting, mirroring the movie’s surreal and psychological tone.
